Air Canada and Chase launched the Chase Aeroplan World Elite Mastercard Credit Card to allow U.S. cardmembers to earn Aeroplan points for faster, better access to the world. The partnership between Canada’s largest airline and the world’s largest co-brand card issuer entails never-before-seen offers for cardmembers.
“We set out to create something special for our U.S. based Aeroplan members — a card that offers immediate benefits after signing-up, and more value the more it’s used for purchases,” said Scott O’Leary, vice president, Aeroplan, Air Canada. “The Chase Aeroplan Card, when paired with the newly transformed Aeroplan and our growing list of 45 airline partners, gives our U.S. members everything they need to travel more and travel better.”
The new Chase Aeroplan World Elite Mastercard Credit Card includes opportunities for cardmembers to earn Aeroplan points on everyday categories like earning three points per dollar on dining, takeout, eligible delivery services and grocery stores. Members also earn one point for each dollar spent on all other purchases.
The new plan offers unprecedented access to Aeroplan travel benefits including automatically receiving Aeroplan 25K Elite Status for the rest of the first calendar year, plus the following year, free first checked bag on Air Canada flights, no foreign transaction fees and protection benefits. World Elite Mastercard benefits will be available as well, providing access to Mastercard Priceless Experiences, complimentary 24/7 concierge service and exclusive offers from popular brands for services like food delivery and online shopping.
Additionally, the Pay Yourself Back Benefits program will soon join the many other benefits that come with being a cardmember. This benefit allows cardmembers to apply Aeroplan points toward travel purchases on any airline, including car rental and hotel at a rate of 1.25 cents per point up to 50,000 points per year.
“We designed the new Aeroplan Credit Card to provide cardmembers with incredible opportunities to earn points on everyday purchases that they can use toward travel all across the world,” said Greg Stranz, general manager, Air Canada Co-Brand Cards, Chase. “We are excited about the rich value the Aeroplan program and new card offers as more Americans return to travel and plan for future international trips.”
For a limited time only, new Aeroplan Credit Card cardmembers will receive two Welcome Flight Reward Certificates valid for up to 50,000 points each after spending $4,000 on the card in the first three months.
With an annual fee of just $95, this partnership will make travel easier than ever. As the industry’s most globally connected program with more than 45 partner airlines, Aeroplan seeks to provide cardmembers the ultimate experience when flying and when making everyday purchases.
In addition to the new U.S. Chase Aeroplan Credit Card, Air Canada also announced its most recent carbon offset plan. To reduce the impact of greenhouse gas emissions associated with cardmember travel when flying Air Canada using an Aeroplan flight reward, Aeroplan will purchase carbon offsets.
