From Jan. 28–Feb. 4, 2018, the Swiss city of Lausanne will play host to the 46th International Ballet Competition (Prix de Lausanne). Young dancers, ages 14–19, descend upon this breathtaking lakeside city, arriving from around the globe to compete for scholarships and launch their professional careers. Qualifying and final competitions will take place on the main stage, foyer and studios one and two at Béjart Ballet Lausanne located at Chemin du Presbytère.
In Nyon, the Winter Festival (Festival Les Hivernales) will take place Feb. 22–25, 2018. The four-day music fest offers visitors an immersive musical experience with more than 30 Swiss and International pop, rock and electro artists including Girls in Hawaii, Cold Bath, Lynn Maring, Sniper and Colour of Rice. Shows will be staged at nine venues around town — seven are free. Among them: Fisherman’s Pub, Salle Communale, Villa Thomas and La Plage. Dedicated public transportation for the festival will be available to transport festival attendees to and from the city center.
