Hilton Hotels & Resorts conducted a study on passport ownership. The results find more than half of passport holders are content with their lives, compared to just about a third of non-passport holders who feel content with their lives.

However, 18 percent of passport holders have never used it, though 27 percent have plans to do so.

The study also uncovered the perks of international travel. The large majority of responders think international travel is just as valuable as a college education. Passport holders who travel internationally are also viewed as more fun, creative and sexy. More than a third of married international travelers say travel deepens romantic relationships.

Following the study, the Hilton Passport Project plans to set up passport education centers at select hotels later in the year.
