Boeing recently unveiled the first of its 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft at a Boeing South Carolina event attended by United States President Donald Trump and South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster.
The aircraft is the longest Dreamliner variant and measures about 18 feet longer than the 787-9, with a similar size wingspan, designed to carry up to 330 passengers in the typical two-class configuration.
“This airplane, the most efficient in its class, is the result of years of hard work and dedication from our Boeing teammates, suppliers and community partners in South Carolina and across the globe,” said Kevin McAllister, president and chief executive officer, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “We know our customers, including launch customer Singapore Airlines, are going to love what the 787-10 will do for their fleets and we can’t wait to see them fly it.”
Boeing is scheduled to deliver the first of the aircraft, launching with Singapore Airlines, in 2018. Currently the aircraft received a total of 149 orders from eight other customers, including KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, British Airways, All Nippon Airways, United, Etihad, EVA Air, GE Capital Aviation Services and Air Lease Corp. The aircraft is scheduled to make its first flight in the coming weeks.
