In light of recent traveler demand for increased health and wellness options, Hyatt Hotels Corp. announced its acquisition of Miraval Group, a renowned provider of wellness and mindfulness experiences.
Under the new acquisition terms, Miraval will form a new distinct wellness category within the Hyatt portfolio of brands, while also continuing standalone operation of its resorts and spas.
Hyatt will procure flagship Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa and will continue Miraval’s plan to redevelop the Travaasa Resort in Austin, Texas. The acquisition also includes the redevelopment of the Cranwell Spa & Golf Resort in Lenox, Mass.
The acquisition and redevelopment of these Miraval resorts is in addition to Hyatt’s increased fitness options and a special program launched in 2014 called “Food. Thoughtfully Sourced, Carefully Served,” featuring specially curated menus with healthy, sustainable food options.
