Hilton Worldwide recently announced Hotel Saranac as the latest addition to Curio – A Collection by Hilton, the company’s assortment of unique luxury hotels. The newly branded property is scheduled to open next year after a short closure for renovations. Hotel Saranac’s location in Saranac Lake, N.Y., combines a rural setting with upscale amenities. The new design retains the hotel’s historic touch while upgrading features most important to guests. “We’re pleased to bring Hotel Saranac into the collection in partnership with Roedel Companies. Hilton is excited to be a part of their passion for the local community and the future of this local landmark. Its rich history and unique character are exactly what Curio looks for in its properties,” said Matt Wehling, senior vice president, development, North America, Hilton Worldwide. The property originally opened in 1927 as a training center for Paul Smith’s College. Roedel Companies bought the property in December 2013. After reopening, Hotel Saranac will offer 100 guestrooms and Ampersand, a luxury spa, salon and fitness center. Campfire, Adirondack Grill & Bar is the property’s new dining experience, incorporating Adirondack flavors in a cozy environment. Meeting spaces are found in the property’s Grand Hall, which boasts décor reminiscent of a European castle. The location provides easy access to Saranac Lake’s downtown, where guests can enjoy a thriving local arts scene, locavore dining and theater, as well as a multitude of outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, golfing, skiing and more. “Hotel Saranac has a reputation as a beloved cornerstone in the community, giving guests a unique opportunity to discover the special charm of the Adirondacks. The hotel’s design will reflect the natural beauty of the Adirondacks while also providing the comfort and luxury our guests want while traveling,” said Dianna Vaughan, senior vice president and global head, Curio – A Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton

Hyatt Centric Las Olas Review

Today’s Fort Lauderdale is not the one you or your older relatives experienced in college; while beachfront surf shops along Fort Lauderdale Boulevard recall that colorful Spring Break era, Las Olas Boulevard embodies the city’s recent glow-up, particularly after the pandemic. In fact, it was spring 2020 when Hyatt Centric Las Olas opened its doors and played a major role in reshaping and rethinking Fort Lauderdale as a relaxed but lively vacation or business destination.

Now’s the Time to See Giza, the Nile and Beyond

All archaeology-obsessed eyes turned hopefully toward Egypt earlier this year when the highly anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum outside Cairo finally began welcoming visitors after construction delays, funding roadblocks and political upheaval in the region (among other factors) conspired to keep things delayed for many long years. The museum’s cherry on the top is slated to open this summer, with the July opening of the museum’s 20-plus-years-in-the-making Tutankhamen galleries and accompanying cache of some 5,000 artifacts and treasures from the boy king’s tomb.
