Alitalia announced its new Beijing service, which will begin July 18. The service is a direct flight between Rome (FCO) and Beijing (PEK). The route is the third new international destination from the airline this year, following Santiago de Chile (SCL) and Mexico City (MEX).
“We are committed to strengthen our presence in the Far East,” said Cramer Ball, CEO, Alitalia. “The new route to Beijing represents a crucial investment for Alitalia as we continue to expand our network through increased long-haul flying to strategic markets.”
The new route will depart Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 14:20 and arrive in Beijing at 6:20 the following day. Returning flights will depart Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 9:15, arriving at 14:25. The route will be serviced on an Airbus A330 aircraft, offering 250 seats with new cabin layouts and WiFi connectivity.
To coincide with the announcement, Alitalia is offering members of its frequent-flyer programme up to 5,000 bonus miles if they fly the new route before Sept. 18.
