World’s Most Expensive Hotel Opening In Macau

Apr 2, 2016
Daily

The Chinese economy may be in trouble, and Macau may be struggling, but that hasn’t stopped Chinese billionaire Stephen Hung from completing the world’s most expensive hotel in the Chinese gambling hot spot this summer.

Investors poured $1.4 billion into The 13, a Baroque-style property with each suite at 30,000 square feet. There are 200 villas in all, and every guest receives 24-hour butler service and custom Rolls Royce Phantom chauffeur service. A shocking $7 million went into building each villa.

“This was a labor of love,” Hung said in a statement. “The team and I put every ounce of creativity and passion we had into this project to ensure every detail was perfect. Our guests, I believe, will find the result truly remarkable and beyond anything they have previously experienced.”

Inside the hotel, gold doors conceal private elevators. There are crystal chandeliers, vaulted ceilings, couture products from luxury brands and much more. Three Michelin-star Paris restaurant L’Ambroisie will open its only other location here.

Hung says 13 is his lucky number, even though many consider it to be unlucky. “As the business and the brand have developed, we felt that the name ‘The 13’ most accurately reflected our Macau hotel’s combination of Baroque inspiration and contemporary accents,” he said. “Thirteen is my lucky number and the new name along with the new logo fit perfectly with my vision. There is a hint of tradition while also suggesting a chic and fun edginess.”

Hyatt Centric Las Olas Review

Today’s Fort Lauderdale is not the one you or your older relatives experienced in college; while beachfront surf shops along Fort Lauderdale Boulevard recall that colorful Spring Break era, Las Olas Boulevard embodies the city’s recent glow-up, particularly after the pandemic. In fact, it was spring 2020 when Hyatt Centric Las Olas opened its doors and played a major role in reshaping and rethinking Fort Lauderdale as a relaxed but lively vacation or business destination.
