Earlier this week, more than 4,000 travel suppliers, advisors and media descended on The Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nev., for the 27^th Annual Virtuoso Travel Week. Virtuoso is the leading international travel agency network specializing in luxury and experiential travel. Among the many trends discussed at the yearly event, Virtuoso revealed information about autumn 2015 travel.

Virtuoso travelers are an affluent, well-traveled contingent, with a median age of 56. According to recent bookings, fall travel sees strong demand, with Europe remaining a universal favorite for these travelers. Southeast Asia is also popping up on more and more travel lists. Additionally, cruising is increasing in popularity, especially expedition cruising with a 41 percent increase in bookings year-over-year.

Virtuoso’s Top 10 Destinations for U.S. Travelers in fall 2015 are:

5. Australia
6. New Zealand
7. France

9. Germany
10. Canada

These destinations are the most popular for fall leisure travel based on future bookings. With a 34 percent increase in air bookings alone, Canada is the fastest growing destination on this list.

Virtuoso also names a Hot 10 list — destinations seeing the biggest jump in year-over-year bookings. Its No. 1 spot, Vietnam, has seen a 270 percent increase recently. The other destinations on the Hot 10 list are: India, French Polynesia, Spain, Argentina, Canada, U.S. Virgin Islands, Peru, Costa Rica and the Netherlands.

“Today’s consumers purchase travel in a much more personalized way, looking for attributes in products and services that reflect who they are and the lifestyles they lead,” said Matthew D.
