The United States had the biggest increase in hotel prices worldwide last year, according to Hotels.com. The average daily rate was $137 per night in 2014, marking a 5 percent increase from 2013, while the average price for a hotel room around the world increased by 3 percent last year. The average daily rate in the Caribbean and Latin America, also increased, rising 4 percent and 2 percent respectively, as well as in Europe and the Middle East, both rising 4 percent. In Asia, the average daily rate fell 2 percent last year.
