On March 3, Dune House Hotel & Spa opens in Atlantic Beach, Florida, bringing a vintage, relaxed property to North Florida’s coast. Formerly One Ocean Resort & Spa, the new hotel has been redesigned and reimagined, embracing the saltwater spirit to bring community-driven programming, ocean-to-table dining and elevated amenities just steps from the beach.
Interiors feature natural materials like sea glass, sun-bleached stone and weathered wood. Dune House Hotel & Spa will offer 193 guestrooms and suites in assorted configurations, boasting contemporary furnishings with many providing unobstructed ocean views.
Coastal Farmer will anchor the hotel’s food and beverage scene. The coastal steakhouse restaurant sources from local farms and nearby waters to craft dishes in an oceanfront setting. Soothsayer is another eatery, located poolside, and will be an indoor-outdoor bar. For local brews and light fare, Café Dune will serve as a casual space. Paying homage to the site’s past as Sea Turtle Inn, Sea Turtle Scoops will offer ice cream by the scoop.
Other amenities at the hotel include The Spa at Dune House, complete with a modernized menu of passage and wellness experiences, as well as steam experiences. A beachfront pool will also grace the hotel, framed by loungers and shaded seating. And on-site retail spaces will feature Atlantic Beach vendors selling everything from boutique beachwear to surf rentals for the ultimate beach experience.
The hotel will also offer about 10,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event space.
To celebrate its opening, the hotel offers a Taste of Dune House promotion, which includes overnight accommodations, a complimentary Dune House scented candle from local partner The Candle Garden, Dune House-branded tote bag, famous Dune House homemade waffles and complimentary valet parking.

During “the Golden Age of Air Travel,” in the 1950s and ’60s, getting aboard an airplane was a special occasion, with passengers wearing their best outfits to suit the exclusive setting and lavish dining. This changed during the 1970s and into the 1980s, when commercial air travel became more democratized, thanks in part to the U.S. Airline Deregulation Act of 1978, and luxury was contained within business- and first-class cabins. In the last 30 years, as discount carriers found their audience, more shifts took place in major carriers’ premium cabins and lounges.

Japan is a destination that rewards repeat visits because no two regions — or seasons — feel quite the same. One moment, you’re wandering through centuries-old geisha districts in Kanazawa. The next, you’re watching neon reflections dance across Tokyo streets long after midnight.

Oct 23, 2026The Flight Less Taken: Unsung Carriers Whisk You Away to Far-Flung Destinations
The miracle of flight feels slightly less miraculous these days. Endless delays, cramped seating and shortchanged amenities feel par for the course, and one can easily forget the wondrous fact that you’re hurtling above planet Earth, soaring above the clouds and across the skies to your destination of choice. In the olden days, you were limited to the fallibility of your outrigger canoe or horse-drawn carriage. It’s not hyperbolic to invoke the invention of the wheel when reminding oneself to stay calm and carry on in coach.
