W Hotels, part of Marriott’s portfolio, opens its second Italian property with W Florence. Situated on Piazza dell’Unità Italiana, the hotel occupies a building originally designed by Florentine architect Lando Bartoli.

Featuring 119 stylish guestrooms (including 16 suites and one penthouse), a W lounge, three distinct restaurants, and signature FIT gym, W Florence breathes new life into a historic landmark through luxury and modernity. Atop the hotel is a rooftop garden, offering panoramic views over the city’s iconic architecture.
The W Lounge integrates the city’s rhythm with live music through classic cocktails and curated DJ sets in a partially covered central courtyard. A 360-degree blue lava stone bar extends along the side of the lounge, which leads to an aperitivo table with dishes highlighting the best of Italy.

Guests can choose from several on-site restaurants: Tratto is a laidback yet bold Italian food concept spanning a restaurant and bar on the ground floor; Zefiro Rooftop, a top-floor restaurant coming later this summer and set to serve craft cocktails, small bites and bespoke programming; and Akira Back, also slated to open later this summer, boasting a Michelin-starred chef concocting Japanese and Korean dishes.
