Just a short block from the Champs Elysées, flower-bedecked window boxes grace the corner and clearly identify Château des Fleurs. This 37-room boutique hotel is one of Vivre-LMB’s five small hotels in Paris owned by Olivier Bertrand and his sisters and affiliated with Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

Inside, the 1910 building welcomes with a whimsically inviting, light-filled, ground-floor lobby, bar and dining area. Quintana Partners, interior designers from Barcelona, created the fresh néo-Art Nouveau look. They installed dark woods, brass shelves and veined marble on the square bar; Murano chandeliers; a brass-trimmed fireplace; and Persian carpets. These accent the creamy color palette of burnt-orange velvet stools, armchairs with fringe and red floor tiles.
Curvilinear shapes add to the alluring ambiance. For example, a row of small wooden spheres painted white mimic beams on the ceiling millwork, and dark wooden balls form vertical columns that support and separate the wall-long, library-style bookshelves.

On the upper floors, the curvaceous sculpted wooden bedroom doors are reminiscent of the iconic style of Barcelona’s famed Antoni Gaudí. Our corner suite featured a bed with a curved headboard facing two of three huge windows; one window backs the adjacent standalone footed bathtub. The front hall leads to an outfitted dressing room entry to the bathroom, and includes storage, a closet and minibar.
Shortly after I arrived, the elevator brought me to the lower level to the fitness area —with its NOHRD equipment and a punching bag — and small spa. It specializes in individualized treatments by Omnisens, a French brand with a variety of organic products, including eye cream, cleanser and lavender oil. My transformative anti-stress facial was the perfect way to relax, moisturize and feel refreshed after an overnight flight, and it was a great way to start my time in Paris.
The hospitality team is readily available to book exclusive Parisian experiences, such as a private cruise on the Seine, and private walking tours of the Louvre or Ile de la Cité, where Nôtre Dame is being reconstructed before its Dec. 8 scheduled reopening.

The hotel’s appealing location in the prestigious 8th arrondissement in the Golden Triangle means proximity to designer boutiques like the flagship Louis Vuitton store down Avenue George V, Armani, Balenciaga, Anne Fontaine, Givenchy, Hermès, Kenzo, and even The Kooples and Rizzo Willy.
Fine-dining restaurants are just footsteps away. The Arc de Triomphe at the Étoile is just a short walk from the hotel and 12 streets radiate from Place Charles de Gaulle-Etoile, where Air France Route 2 bus connects with Roissy CDG. And, close by, on Avenue Friedland, a shuttle bus transports visitors every 20 minutes to Fondation Louis Vuitton in the Bois de Boulogne.
