Singapore Airlines is set to give its first-class cabins on its fleet of long-haul and ultra-long-haul Airbus A350 jets a major upgrade. These planes, operating the world’s longest flight from Singapore (SIN) to both Newark (EWR) and New York (JFK) at just less than 19 hours, will unveil its brand-new first-class cabins in 2026.

“The new First Class and Business Class seat designs will incorporate thoughtful elements that push the boundaries of comfort, luxury, and modernity, allowing our customers to relax or work effortlessly on board,” said Goh Choon Phong, CEO, Singapore Airlines. “Premium Economy Class and Economy Class customers can also look forward to refreshed cabin interiors that enhance their travel experience.”

The airline is investing approximately $821 million into the multiyear program to install its new long-haul cabin products across its 41 aircraft. While Singapore Airlines has yet to reveal details of what these new cabins will entail, the airline did share it will add a sliding door to business class, and first class and business class will feature all-new screens. Sliding doors are currently absent in the airline’s business class. Additionally, the new first-class suites will span at least three windows and feature a spacious design with doors.

The new first-class cabins will also be included on Singapore Airlines’ Boeing 777x aircraft, which enters service no sooner than 2026. Singapore Airlines’ first retrofitted ultra-long-haul aircraft debuts in early 2027. The entire retrofit is expected to be completed by the end of 2030.

In addition to new first-class cabins on these long-haul and ultra-long-haul flights, Singapore Airlines also refreshes its coach and premium-economy cabins. Passengers will enjoy access to the airline’s updated KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system, complete with better personalization options.

The retrofitted A350-900 long-haul aircraft will result in 42 business-class seats and 24 premium-economy seats. The ultra-long-haul aircraft will include four first-class suites, 70 business-class seats and 58 premium-economy seats.

“Over the past six years, we have extensively engaged customers and stakeholders in the design of our next-generation long-haul cabin products, anticipating their evolving preferences and expectations down to the finest details,” said Phong.
