ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: Flying in from Los Angeles on a quick flight into Mexico City to visit some of our top clients, I had plenty of time to arrive a couple of hours before our meetings, so my first stop was my hotel to prepare.
A beautiful welcome, as is customary at a St. Regis: From the minute your car pulls into the driveway, the service and warm hospitality are palpable. I immediately forgot about my luggage, but no matter, the bell service was on it. I was led to reception, just a quick elevator ride up to the third floor, where I got the rundown on one of Mexico City’s most beautiful hotels.
I enjoyed a refreshment while welcoming staff went through the necessary check-in process, confirming length of stay, contact information and so forth. Once they wrapped that up, they led me to the elevator to my suite. Elevators to guestrooms are only accessible with the swipe of your key card.
GUEST QUARTERS: Walking into my suite, I was immediately drawn to the beautiful view of the city through floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room (as well as the bedroom). You can almost hear the city buzzing just below, but in your suite you can take a respite from the noise of traffic and all. I certainly made great use of the serenity and working space in my living room.
A beautifully adorned set of doors separated the living and sleeping areas. The bedroom featured a decadent king-sized bed and plentiful closet space, which made it feel like home. The space is certainly more than enough for one traveling on business; a companion would also enjoy their own space for their wardrobe.
In the spacious bathroom the lavatory facilities were separate from the washroom area. The shower included a hot sauna, which I took advantage of at the end of a full day of meetings. There was also a massive tub to soothe you into relaxation. This all culminated with his-and-hers sinks giving me plenty of space to spread out — a traveling girl’s dream!
SERVICES/AMENITIES: I appreciated the hotel’s 24-hour butler service, making anything guests need readily available. I avoided a trip to the business center with the help of my butler. Butlers are at your beck and call no matter the request; they are your one personal touch point throughout your entire stay.
The suite fridge held all the necessary snacks and plenty of beverages. The 24-hour in-room dining also came in handy for the days we had late meetings. The food did not disappoint!
The property offers a lovely gym to keep fitness in check. You can even request personal training sessions. Pop on the treadmill or stationary bike and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the cityscape — might be my favorite. I was also quite lucky to squeeze a visit to Remede Spa into my busy itinerary. What a wonderful way to wrap everything up at the end of the trip!
The property offers a great selection of dining venues. Consider dinner at Diana Restaurant with its stunning view of the Diana fountain on Mexico City’s best-known street, Paseo de la Reforma.

May 21, 2025Hotel Nice Beau Rivage Review
In the city Henri Matisse once called home — and where Musée Matisse holds his largest collection — Hotel Beau Rivage has a special connection with the artist, who first visited the hotel in 1916 and painted famous sea views from his room 89 in 1917. Today, framed Matisse prints — many brightly colored cut-out collages from the artist’s JAZZ collection — decorate its walls. Hotel guests also benefit from a partnership with the museum.
