If a giant snow maze sounds as irresistible to you as it does to us, head to Winnipeg, Manitoba, to experience the largest snow maze, to be included in the Guinness World Record. Each year from January to March, an enormous, 30,000-square-foot snow labyrinth is created at the Amaze in Corn site. Enjoy breaks along the way at cozy firepits and, should you find your way out, stay for a horse-drawn sleigh ride; a swoosh down a toboggan run on a giant snow hill; a warming mug of hot chocolate; and a meal at The Den, a restaurant carved out of an estimated 500,000 pounds of snow.

Time your visit to take in the Festival Du Voyageur, Feb. 16–24. This beloved winter festival is the largest in Western Canada and features colossal snow sculptures ranging from wild creatures and castles to art installations. Many of the artists will be on hand, and once they’ve shared their snow sculpting secrets, festivalgoers can enjoy live music, browse for handcrafted souvenirs, and taste plenty of traditional French-Canadian and First Nation foods.
