From new flights further connecting the country with the United States to culinary events to the unveiling of iconic buildings, here’s what to expect in 2024:

The World Coffee Championships Comes to Copenhagen
As one of the highest coffee consuming countries in the world, Denmark takes the reign at next year’s World Coffee Championships at Bella Center, June 27–29. The event will see the highly competitive World Latte Art and World Coffee Roasting Championships with leading specialty roasters like La Cabra, Copenhagen Coffee Lab and Stiller’s Coffee.
Seaside Resorts to Grace Loddenhøj and Skarrev
Tiny Seaside Resort, set to launch in 2024, brings two new retreats to Aabenraa beach in South Jutland. Promising guests a peaceful retreat, these thoughtfully designed tiny houses embrace the natural surroundings, as well as offer access to a fitness center, reception area and more.
New Electric Ferries Make for Eco-Friendly Island Hopping
Beginning next year, travelers can opt for greener travel options to Samsøe and Als peninsula with two new electric ferries operated by Molslinjen. Traveling via Alslinjen, travelers uncover the beauty of South Funen and Als peninsula. Samsøe is also known as Denmark’s vegetable garden, allowing travelers to enjoy the tastes and flavors of New Nordic Dining. There’s also the opportunity to take in the natural beauty of Samsølinjen, one of Denmark’s most sustainable islands, which achieved 100 percent energy self-sufficiency back in 2007.
A New Dark Sky Park is on the Horizon
Mandø is slated to receive its official Dark Sky Park certification next year. Part of the Wadden Sea National Park, this remote island is accessible only by tractor-bus and is a sanctuary for migratory birds from Africa to Siberia. Mandø offers unrivaled darkness, making it one of Denmark’s best locations for stargazing. Its remoteness also allows travelers to find respite from the bustle of cities and towns.
The Home of Carlsberg Opens to Visitors
The unveiling of the new Home of Carlsberg will soon allow visitors to venture through a preserved historic area and immerse themselves in the brewery’s legacy. The Home of Carlsberg will entail majestic brewing horses and vintage bottle collections, as well as beer tastings and a new restaurant and bar. Visitors can also take part in guided tours through the cellars to uncover a trove of tales and secrets.

An Iconic Structure Paves the Way in Aarhus
The Aarhus Lighthouse, opened Dec. 1, reshapes the Aarhus skyline and adds to the city’s ever-changing identity of becoming a modern, sustainable and vibrant place. New UNESCO World Heritage Sites Honor Denmark’s Viking Legacy
Earlier this year, UNESCO added Danish Viking Age ring fortresses to its growing list of World Heritage sites. These fortresses include Aggersborg, Fyrkat, Nonnebakken, Trelleborg and Borgring, and give visitors a glimpse into Viking life.
