A stylish and modern steakhouse comes to Montauk, New York, offering the best steaks, East End produce and seafood. Mavericks sees James Beard-nominated Jeremy Blutstein integrate local seafood and produce into the traditional steakhouse menu.

Each table offers unobstructed views of For Pond, and the restaurant embraces warm, coastal details for a new dining experience in the East End. With 200 seats and an outdoor patio alongside the pond, the restaurant’s sleek indoor dining area and bar extends to the outside. Diners enter through a walkway with a wall made from oyster shells. Within, walnut walls and even an original Andy Warhol screen print welcome guests before they sit.

Highlights of the menu include grilled oysters with kimchi butter and house-cured bacon; A5 wagyu tiradito with house-made yuzu kosho, pickled beech mushrooms; purple daikon and watermelon radish; and a selection of prime cuts ranging from a petite filet to New York strip. The restaurant also makes all pastas in house. Desserts round out the experience, with decadent dishes like pecan pot pie and pistachio and vanilla ice cream among the sweet offerings.

Mavericks also boasts an extensive wine list and curated cocktail program. The Mavericks martini sees olive oil-washed Stoli Elite garnished with brine and blue cheese olives. Other cocktails include Aviation (Fords Gin, Luxardo, crème de violette and lemon) and Midnight Oil (a mezcal espresso martini with Dos Hombres Mezcal, Fernet Branca Menta, Left Hand Espresso, cold brew liquor and Shanky’s Whip).

Leading up to Memorial Day, Mavericks is open for dinner Thursday–Saturday, 5–10 p.m., and Sunday, 5–9 p.m. After Memorial Day, the restaurant opens for lunch, apres-beach and dinner.
