Waldorf Astoria Orlando announced plans to undergo a multiphase reimagination to debut in December 2023, following an extensive renovation of the hotel’s meeting and events spaces last year. The next phase focuses on guestrooms and suites, lobby space, select culinary outlets, the spa and the 18-hole golf course.
The renewal marks the hotel’s largest enhancement since it opened in 2009 and will be completed in phases to minimize guest disruption.

“We are delighted to announce our plans for the complete makeover of Waldorf Astoria Orlando,” said Ryan Fitzgerald, general manager, Waldorf Astoria Orlando. “As a Waldorf Astoria hotel, our guests expect the best in luxury accommodations and world-class amenities, and we are committed to providing them with an exceptional experience that surpasses their expectations as soon as they walk through our doors.”
Through June, the lobby undergoes its refresh to feature a bright and airy look with the original Waldorf Astoria brand clock remaining as a welcome. For guestrooms and suites, interior design firm Parker Torres Design seeks inspiration from the flora and fauna in surrounding Bonnet Creek. Other enhancements include high-end furnishings, custom millwork, wet bars and stocked minibars, custom bathroom vanities with natural stone tops, and motion-activated night lights.

Lobby restaurant Peacock Alley will be transformed June through August, and with its renovation comes the return of the Royal Tea program. Another on-site eatery preparing to undergo renovation is Bull & Bear, which will reopen as an opulent fine-dining destination introducing newly refined dishes. New Waldorf Marketplace, a multifunctional all-day space serving coffee, baked goods, an expert chocolate program and more, will debut adjacent to Peacock Alley.
The future Waldorf Spa will include Lemi Spa Dream tables for couples’ treatments, while at Waldorf Astoria Golf Club, renovations and improvements will be made to each hole.

Jun 3, 2025Now’s the Time to See Giza, the Nile and Beyond
All archaeology-obsessed eyes turned hopefully toward Egypt earlier this year when the highly anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum outside Cairo finally began welcoming visitors after construction delays, funding roadblocks and political upheaval in the region (among other factors) conspired to keep things delayed for many long years. The museum’s cherry on the top is slated to open this summer, with the July opening of the museum’s 20-plus-years-in-the-making Tutankhamen galleries and accompanying cache of some 5,000 artifacts and treasures from the boy king’s tomb.
