West Coast travelers can now enjoy easier, more efficient access to the Cayman Islands thanks to a new airlift option via Cayman Airways Ltd. As of Nov. 6, Cayman Airways operates nonstop service from Los Angeles International Airport to Owen Roberts International Airport in Grand Cayman at an introductory fare of $399.
“It has been a long-time goal to connect the Cayman Islands with our friends on the West Coast, and now that we have the ability to operate long haul flights via our national flag carrier, we are eager to showcase all that we have to offer,” said Kenneth V. Bryan, Hon. Minister for Tourism and Transport. “With our world-renowned beaches, five-star resorts, charming boutique villas, exceptional adventure and attractions and globally renowned culinary scene – we are confident that travelers visiting us from California will find all they have dreamed about in Cayman.”
The flight marks the only direct flight to service the West Coast from the Caribbean, and the new route hopes to stimulate more and longer vacations to these islands. Additionally, no pre-arrival testing is required for travelers vaccinated for COVID-19. The new route will operate on a year-round, once-weekly basis from LAX to GCM on Sunday, returning GCM to LAX on Saturday.
