Cunard premiered the musical Top Hat aboard Queen Victoria last week. Next week, the musical premieres aboard Queen Elizabeth. The musical is slated to appear exclusively on Cunard ships for the next four years.
Top Hat, a romantic comedy set in 1930s Hollywood, features dazzling costumes and iconic tap dancing numbers and is based on a 1935 film by the same name.
“Top Hat perfectly matches the Frank Matcham-style theaters aboard Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth, which complements this visually outstanding show perfectly,” said Matthew White, director, original Top Hat stage show. White co-adapted the stage script from film and assisted with adapting the show for its Cunard run.
“We are thrilled to bring this glamorous musical to our stage for the very first time exclusively on Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria,” said Josh Leibowitz, senior vice president, Cunard North America. “Providing guests with exclusive entertainment and the best of musical theater creates extraordinary experiences that can be found only on Cunard.”
