Marriott’s luxurious Autograph Collection Hotels landed in Manhattan Beach, Calif. The Manhattan Beach property occupies 26 acres in South Bay, conveniently close to Los Angeles International Airport. Of the 393 luxury rooms and suites, 112 feature private balconies. For dining, guests enjoy Jute Coastal Bar + Kitchen, under the direction of executive chef Octavio Sabado.

The design, including a handcrafted Argentine driftwood reception desk, can be credited to San Francisco-based EDG Design and consultants Theresa Fatino Design. The décor includes works by Sausalito photorealist Eric Zener, known for his elemental water paintings. Contemporary guestrooms have a soothing, beach-inspired palette and coastal touches such as jute-woven chairs in the lobby.
Guests also enjoy the use of bicycles via the hotel’s partnership with Sole Bicycles, based in Venice Beach — perfect, given the hotel’s location just a mile from the beach. Along with lawn games, the property also boasts an outdoor pool, fitness center and a nine-hole, par-three golf course. Extensive meeting and event space includes 18 meeting rooms and Loftlight — a 6,800-square-foot ballroom.
