Museums offer a wealth for visitors to enjoy, including culinary delights. While restaurants might not be the first thing to spring to mind when thinking about museums, don’t discount the dining outlets on your next visit. Here are three museum restaurants worth trying in the Sunshine State.

Bistro, Sarasota Art Museum of Ringling College
Bistro, opened last October, offers a Florida farm stand-inspired menu with local, seasonal ingredients. Indoor and outdoor dining is available, as well as beautifully curated exhibits. Executive chef Kaytlin Dangaran trained at The French Culinary Institute before working in restaurants in New York, San Francisco and Miami. In a nod to the building’s history as a former high school, menu specials are displayed on a blackboard.

Verde, Perez Art Museum Miami
Enjoy views of Biscayne Bay and art at Verde, housed in Perez Art Museum Miami. With both indoor and outdoor dining, the menu is a reflection of executive chef Hedy Goldsmith’s diverse background. Think items like the Mediterranean Sampler, Tortilla Española and salmon. Don’t skip dessert, as Goldsmith’s renowned recipes round out the tasty options.

The Restaurant at the Norton, Norton Museum of Art
Opened in February 2019, The Restaurant at the Norton is the first full-service restaurant for the museum, also accessible to the general public as a standalone eatery. Modern American fare with nods to the coast is complemented by garden views. Constellation Culinary Group is behind the flavorful entrees, light bites and creative cocktails.

Indulge in the Seductive Splendor Bora Bora

I had just taken off my sandals, stepping onto the white-sand beach for a late-morning walk to a secluded spot I heard about from a front desk clerk, when I glanced down and saw the time on my phone. It had just turned 11 a.m., which meant it was only 7 am back home, the perfect time to call and say good morning to by husband before he left for work. Not quite ready to head back to my room, I decided I’d test the WiFi signal and made the call as I continued walking toward the shoreline.

Conrad Washington D.C. Review

ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: We drove from Philadelphia to Washington, D.C., without a hitch in early October. In communication with the Conrad staff, I was directed to the CityCenter Garage, where I could park and recharge my car. It was right around the corner and convenient; from the garage it is a short walk to the front of the hotel. Check-in took place on the ground floor versus the lobby to reduce touch points during COVID-19. The staff politely greeted us and gave us our keys; I was in room 1027. From the ground floor we took the elevator to the lobby level and transferred to the elevator bank to the rooms.
