Add New York City and Austin to your list of bar-hopping cities with the highly-anticipated debuts of Brass Poppy and Bar Sprezzatura.
Brass Poppy is slated to debut in Hotel Van Zandt in Austin, Texas, this September. Located in downtown Austin, Brass Poppy will serve as the boutique hotel’s lobby bar. Curtis Janto, of other local Austin hot spots, will lead the bar program. The menu boasts updated versions of classic cocktails including The Grasshopper and Pink Lady. Expect to see unique garnishes and elegant glassware. Guests may also select small bites curated by the hotel’s executive chef in pintxos style, or single-bite servings.

“Hotel Van Zandt has always been a haven in the heart of Austin for locals and travelers to gather. We see this renovation and new concept as an opportunity to expand on the many ways guests can enjoy our property,” said Chris Guse, general manager, Hotel Van Zandt. “We’re excited to unveil Brass Poppy this fall, it will be a fresh and energetic addition to the Austin cocktail scene.”
In New York City, Bar Sprezzatura will open this fall in Kimpton Hotel Theta. Located on the property’s 16th floor, the year-round rooftop bar draws inspiration from the Italian Riviera with its signature cocktails and chic atmosphere. In partnership with TableOne Hospitality, this marks the East Coast debut of Bar Sprezzatura, with its original location in San Francisco. The space also features an indoor dining venue on the 15th floor.
