Daily

Predicted to be one of the top destinations among Americans for summer travel this year, Switzerland prepares for the season with new openings, reopenings and updates.

The Kunsthaus in Zürich recently underwent a complete expansion, making it the largest museum in Europe. The expansion, led by David Chipperfield, serves as part of the city’s larger development plan to create a trail of cultural buildings throughout Zurich. A new art quarter in the city will also soon appear, with galleries like Eva Presenhuber and Galerie Brome vying for prime spots near the museum.

Also in Zürich, Pavillon Le Corbusier, Le Corbusier’s last completed work, will reopen for the season this month. The museum lies a short distance from La Réserve Eden au Lac, opened just before the pandemic following a 2.5-year restoration by Phillippe Starck.

Ski enthusiasts can expect new openings in Switzerland, as well. In Zermatt, a new ski lift will launch this year to complete an Alpine crossing between the Klein Matterhorn and Testa Grigia, in Italy’s Aosta Valley.

In Interlaken, beginning this December, Switzerland’s new GoldenPass Express train will connect the Bernese Alps ski resorts. The train will stop in Montreux, Gstaad and Interlaken and feature floor-to-ceiling windows. The sleek trains come from Ferrari designer Pininfarina and mark one of the most highly anticipated openings in Switzerland this year.

Head to Geneva this summer to walk through La Halle de Rive market and try its artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, bakeries and chocolatiers. Comprising 23 different merchants, the market fills with locals and visitors during the summer months.

Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh Review

Phnom Penh as we imagined it stretches beneath us: a picturesque, low-rise mix of Southeast Asian and French Colonial styles. When the inhabitants of those buildings look back at us here in the Fairfield by Marriott hotel in Chip Mong Tower, they see the future.

Amansara Review

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.

The Argosaronic Islands Are Calling

The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides. In fact, trips from Athens ports to the islands take only between 10 minutes and two hours, depending on the island you choose, making them perfect for day or weekend trips. From Piraeus port, you can access Hydra, Spetses, Aegina and Poros directly. Come explore these stunning islands with us and find the inspiration to plan your next trip to these islands. Hydra Hydra town curves around a slope overlooking the Argosaronic Gulf like an amphitheater and is considered one of the most romantic destinations in Greece. Most unique to the island is its lack of vehicles. People on the island get around on mules and donkeys as well as water taxis, making for a peaceful and laid-back day. Hydra lies a two-hour ferry ride from Piraeus port in Athens.
