W Hotels debuted two new properties recently.
W Aspen is the brand’s first mountain resort in North America. A modern mountain chalet, the property offers 88 guestrooms, 11 residences, four WOW suites and one Extreme WOW suite. All are designed in a modern chalet style with Ute pattern accents and furnishings reflecting vintage Aspen flair. Each guestroom includes pit and platform lounge seating. Select guestrooms offer quad queen bunk beds that sleep up to eight. The two-bedroom Extreme WOW suite impresses with its fire pit, hot tub, circular bed and DJ booth.
Social spaces include a year-round rooftop with a heated pool, hot tub and fire pits; an après ski bar; and a ski and snowboard shop.
“The buzz and excitement for the debut of W Aspen has been building for some time and we could not be readier to bring the infectious energy, spirit and programming of W to this iconic American town,” said Greg Durrer, general manager, W Aspen. “We know that W Aspen will not only serve as a year-round destination for travelers but that it will bring a bold new point of view to the local social scene and become the latest player in the legacy of this incredible cultural mecca.”
On the other side of the world, W Muscat debuted in Oman. The art-heavy hotel offers nearly 300 guestrooms and suites with views of the water. Design draws inspiration from the natural landscape, nomadic travel and traditional Omani culture.
A beachfront pool provides views of the Gulf of Oman. The AWAY Spa is outfitted with 10 treatment rooms, a steam room and hammam. Dining options include Siddharta Lounge by Buddha-Bar, a rooftop restaurant and lounge; HARVEST, a light, all-day option; CHAR, a grill house; and Ba Ban, a 1930s Shanghai-inspired Chinese eatery.
“Muscat is a fascinating and exciting city. Its cultural DNA honors millennia of tradition while looking to what’s new and next — an ideal match for the W brand,” said Anthony Ingham, global brand leader, W Hotels Worldwide. “The arrival of W in Muscat marks a new chapter for both the brand and this buzzing metropolis. The hotel reinterprets Omani design and cultural traditions to create a modern, energetic and stylish escape unlike anything the sultanate has seen before.”
