The 35-acre camp is known for luxury tented suites with stunning views of the Chyulu Hills and Mount Kilimanjaro, along with natural springs that serve as a watering hole for local wildlife residents.

Ranging in size and bedroom count, tents also feature private elevated decks, indoor and outdoor showers, and free-standing copper bathtubs. The swish Finch Hattons Suite also offers a butler, bodyguard and private game drive vehicle equipped with a guide. Elegant furnishings beautifully reflect the surrounding landscape and culture through colors, textures and furnishings.

New walking safari routes are led by expert guides, including experienced local guides with firsthand knowledge of the terrain. Early risers will love the Chyulu Sunrise Hike, which sets off at 4 a.m. toward a spot above the Chyulu Cloud Forests. Guests can look forward to breakfast while catching glimpses of buffalo, giraffes and leopards.

The immersive Bush Walk experience takes guests up close with local wildlife, while accompanied by a professional guide and armed ranger from the Kenya Wildlife Service who provides understanding and awareness of the animals and landscape, and also shares basic tracking techniques. During the Chyulu Rainforest Hike, guests are led along paths between orchards and the trees of ancient forests, some of whose branches are adorned in moss.

More challenging, the Ol Doinyo Ololarami Hike heads uphill to the apex of a dormant volcano. From this spot, travelers can savor views of the Tsavo’s unique wilderness. Less demanding, the Camp Safari Walk provides a complimentary guided meander in the wild while enjoying encounters with the park’s birds, insects and medicinal plants, and spotting animal tracks.
