Vietnam Airlines, via a lease, took delivery of its first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner.
The new aircraft will complement Vietnam Airlines’ current fleet of Boeing 787-9s. The new 787-10 is able to serve 40 more passengers at a time and can carry more cargo than the shorter 787-9s. The new jets will feature 367 seats, 24 of which are business class.
“Adding the largest member of the 787 family to our growing fleet enhances our operational efficiency and ensures Vietnam Airlines can continue to boast one of the youngest and most modern fleets in Asia. This aircraft brings unrivalled performance and efficiency, reduced fuel burn, outstanding passenger comfort and amenities,” said Nguyen Hong Linh, executive vice president, Vietnam Airlines.
The new jet can service 95 per cent of the globe’s twin-aisle routes, Vietnam Airlines said.
