United Airlines’ Boeing 737 Max 9 completed its inaugural flight, taking off last week from Houston (IAH) to Anchorage, Alaska (ANC), before returning to Texas. The jet can fly 19 percent farther while using 14 percent less fuel than previous models. Device holders with universal power replace TV screens and next-generation satellite WiFi allows for better video streaming.
The new aircraft offers 111 economy seats, 48 seats in Economy Plus and 20 first-class seats, which boast granite cocktail tables and a device holder in the fold-out tray table. United will have 10 of these aircraft by the end of the year.
