United launched daily non-stop service between Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Monterrey (MTY), Mexico, Dec. 19. The same day, United began service from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and San Salvador International Airport (ZSA) in El Salvador.
Announced Dec. 20, United plans to add 10 new routes, including domestic flights and flights to Latin America and Canada, in 2013. Starting April 13, 2013, the airline will offer routes to Guatemala City (GUA) and San Jose (SJO), Costa Rica, from its hub at Washington Dulles (IAD). Service between Chicago (ORD) and San Jose will begin the same day.
Beginning May 1, United will offer flights between Edmonton (YED), Alberta, and Newark (EWR). Service between Vancouver (YVR) and Washington Dulles (IAD) starts June 8. On June 6, the airline launches service between Fort McMurray (YMM) in Alberta’s far north and Denver (DEN).
In the United States, United starts service between Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Fairbanks (FAI), Alaska, June 6; between Denver (DEN) and Santa Fe (SAF) on May 1; and Los Angeles (LAX) to Wichita (ICT) May 1.
