United Polaris® customers and select Star Alliance™ customers traveling through Houston Intercontinental and New York/Newark can now spend time before boarding at recently unveiled United Polaris lounges.
Visitors can find the lounge at New York/Newark in Terminal C, following security screening between Gates C102 and C120. At Houston Intercontinental, the lounge is located between the Terminal E United Club℠ location and Gate E12.
The exceptional lounge spaces incorporate the energy of each metropolitan area into its uniquely United design. For example, the lounge at New York/Newark boasts a vibrant lighting fixture featuring zodiac constellations, designed by the Brooklyn-based Richard Clarkson Studio, greeting visitors upon arrival.
Each lounge boasts spacious areas to relax, recharge and engage, with hundreds of seats and dozens of work spaces thoughtfully integrated into the layout. It’s easy to get work done or charge up all your devices as you await your flight with power outlets and USB ports readily available.
The bar is the true star of our United Polaris lounges, with thoughtful cocktail lists tailored specifically to each region and the destinations we serve from each airport. At New York/Newark, the drink menu includes the Fernet About It, a take on the Cuba Libre, and the London Spritz, a refreshing English drink. At Houston Intercontinental, visitors can enjoy the spicy Caliente on the Rocks and Brazilian-inspired caipirinha. Each location serves the United Polaris Star, with house-made, anise-infused vodka.
At both lounges, visitors can enjoy amazing cuisine in private, restaurant-style dining areas, boasting menus that incorporate international comfort foods with regional favorites. Try the chimichurri chicken or grilled gazpacho at Houston Intercontinental, or Moroccan-spiced braised lamb or charcuterie board at New York/Newark.
That’s not all — private quiet suites feature plush Saks Fifth Avenue bedding and luxurious shower suites boast rainfall showers and Soho House & Co’s Cowshed Spa products. Personal valet services are also available.
Both United Polaris lounges embody the entire focus of the United Polaris experience — providing long-haul travelers the opportunity for better sleep in the sky. On average, United plans to add one aircraft with United Polaris seating every 10 days through 2020. A cooling gel pillow is provided on every seat. In addition, United now offers customers a pre-arrival dessert on flights departing the U.S., a white chocolate cranberry cookie from Christie Cookie Co.
The United Polaris lounges at Houston Intercontinental and New York/Newark follow the debut of the lounge at San Francisco in April. Another United Polaris lounge will open in Los Angeles this fall.

May 30, 2025By-the-cabin Yachting Redefines the Cruise Experience
I wish this day could last forever!” my windswept 9-year-old exclaimed, his voice soaring over the Mediterranean. He gripped the helm of a Bali 4.6 sailing catamaran off the coast of Marseille, his sun- bleached hair whipping in the salty breeze. The scent of the sea mingled with the aroma of warm baguettes drifting from the Côte d’Azur shoreline. Our captain, a seasoned sailor, subtly adjusted course, letting my son feel the exhilarating pull of the wind against the sails. As the waves lapped against the hull, I realized this was no ordinary vacation — this was freedom, unfiltered.
