United Airlines plans to resume daily non-stop service between Newark (EWR) and both Delhi (DEL) and Mumbai (BOM), effective Sept. 6. United is the only U.S. airline to offer both non-stop routes.
The Newark to Mumbai flight departs daily at 8:10 p.m., arriving the following day at 8:50 p.m. Return flights depart at 11:20 p.m., arriving back in Newark at 5:30 a.m. the following day. A Boeing 777-300 aircraft serves the route.
The Newark to Delhi flight departs at 10:05 p.m. daily, arriving in Delhi at 9:30 p.m. the next day. Return flights depart at 11:35 p.m., arriving in Newark at 4:55 a.m. the next day. A Boeing 777-200 aircraft serves the route.
United additionally begins seasonal service to Delhi from San Francisco (SFO), starting Dec. 5. A Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft is slated for the route. United Airlines is the only U.S. airline offering non-stop service to Delhi from the West Coast.
“We are excited to get back to connecting our customers and our employees to India as our teams prepare to restart our daily service to both Delhi and Mumbai,” said Andrew Nocella, chief commercial officer, United Airlines. “We’re looking forward to beginning our third daily nonstop flight to India this December.”
