Most people probably don’t view a visit to an airport as a relaxing experience, but it turns out, some are calmer than others.
Germany’s Cologne Bonn Airport takes top honors as the world’s most relaxing, according to new research by MyVoucherCodes. The U.K.-based discount deal website recently compared more than 80 of the world’s busiest airports, reviewing factors such as line lengths, lounge costs, on-time performance and passenger numbers, among others.
Cologne Bonn Airport earned a 9.5 out of 10 for on-time performance, a four out of five for queue times rating and 8.2 out of 10 in passenger sentiment. The airport was also recognized for its quality of service, receiving a score of 7.8 out of 10.
The others in the top slots were, in order: Japan’s Kansai International Airport, Stuttgart Airport in Germany, Athens International Airport and Singapore Changi Airport. Helsinki Airport, Zürich Airport, Qatar’s Hamad International Airport, Brasilia International Airport in Brazil and India’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport also ranked in the top 10 for most relaxing.
On the other end of the spectrum, the least relaxing airports were London Stansted Airport, Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Chicago O’Hare International Airport, Manchester Airport and Paris Orly Airport.
