The Red Sea Development Company announced a partnership with SOURCE water to make Saudi Arabia’s The Red Sea Project the world’s first holiday destination to offer bottled water made from just sunlight and air.

SOURCE water is produced by a patented solar technology system that draws pure water vapor from the air before converting it to mineralized drinking water. The water created from the Hydropanels will be bottled at a plant within The Red Sea Project. As the plant also runs on solar energy, together it’s the largest solar-powered facility of its kind, and it has a capacity of 2 million 330-milliliter bottles per year. To start, the plant will produce 300,000 bottles annually.

Bottles in reusable glass, machinery and plant operations will be sourced locally, and the reusable bottles will be refilled on site using a fully circular sustainable distribution model. It operates as a zero-carbon, zero single-use plastic bottle facility.

When The Red Sea Project’s first hotels open in 2022, SOURCE will be the only bottled water served to guests.

Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh Review

Phnom Penh as we imagined it stretches beneath us: a picturesque, low-rise mix of Southeast Asian and French Colonial styles. When the inhabitants of those buildings look back at us here in the Fairfield by Marriott hotel in Chip Mong Tower, they see the future.

Amansara Review

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
