Kimpton’s newest hotel in Santa Barbara debuts this month with the opening of The Goodland, a surf-inspired property with 158 guestrooms. Opening Aug. 26, the luxury, pet-friendly hotel will offer unique perks such as a Mexican Coca-Cola or Coronita upon check-in, a vintage house car, a spa, an outdoor swimming pool and a lobby boasting a fireplace and photo booth. Guestrooms will feature coastal-style furnishings such as wall-mounted surfboards, armchairs upholstered with tie-dye fabrics, sea glass lamps and vintage books.
The Goodland also equips each room with a vintage Crosley record player. To get their hands on records, guests can choose what they want to listen to from behind the front desk when they check in or call ahead and tell the hotel what they would like to hear. Lea Sindija, the on-site Record Concierge, is also available to sit down with guests and talk about the history of vinyl and the process of making it. Lea has curated a collection of vinyl that reflects the property’s luxury yet laid back, SoCal vibe, including albums from Ray Charles, Jimi Hendrix, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day and Sublime.
