In Lake Forest, Illinois, about 45 minutes north of downtown Chicago, The Forester, a Hyatt Place Hotel is taking the words “chef’s table” to a whole new level. The Forester announced the launch of the Suite Culinary Experience guestroom, now available to book.

Located within the bucolic suburb of Lake Forest, the 156-room hotel offers guests the opportunity to experience the talents of the hotel’s Executive Chef Christian Alejandro up close and personal, live from their guest suite.

The culinary mastermind behind the hotel’s on-site restaurant Oaken Bistro + Bar, known as a great food and beverage venue among residents and visitors, Chef Alejandro offers guests on the Suite Culinary Experience a private meal prepared in their hotel suite. The menu, fully customizable to each guest, will include three chef-prepared and -plated courses paired with two signature cocktails handcrafted by the Oaken Bistro + Bar in-house mixology team.

The perfect offering for a romantic getaway, an anniversary celebration or even a quick staycation, Suite Culinary Experience guests are treated to a Chef’s Choice welcome amenity upon arrival for an added element of excitement before the meal begins.

Chef Alejandro will tailor each course to guests’ preferences, showcasing his expertise and passion for exceptional cuisine inspired by the flavors of Latin America, Italy and Creole, and work with guests to create the ideal dine-in experience. From appetizers to decadent desserts, each dish promises to leave a lasting impression. Following the evening meal, guests are offered breakfast for two the next morning at Oaken Bistro + Bar and a complimentary 2 p.m. late check-out time, ensuring a seamless and memorable stay from start to finish.

The Suite Culinary Experience can be booked online as one would normally book a guestroom. On the Forester Hyatt website, go to “BOOK” and enter the desired dates, then click “check availability.”  Once the availability appears, click on suites and, if the experience is available, it will show up with the Suite Culinary Experience per night rate.

Guests staying in all the rooms and suites are invited to enjoy weekly live music every Friday at Oaken Bistro + Bar.  Enjoy all-day drinks and dining in the dining room, or on the 25-seat outdoor patio. The restaurant and bar are open Monday–Sunday, 6:30 a.m. to 12 a.m., with a happy hour available Monday–Friday from 3 to 6 p.m.

The Forester Hotel is a chic destination for both business and leisure travelers. The property is a short distance from Lake Michigan, Lake Forest College, Conway Business Park, Halas Hall and other attractions, including the 18 historic downtown buildings listed by Lake Forest Preservation Foundation.

Hotel Saint Augustine Review

Blending with its Montrose neighborhood like the indigenous and cultivated plants hugging the property’s walkways, the newly built Hotel Saint Augustine opened mid-January 2025. The first Bunkhouse hotel in Houston, Texas, is easily mistaken for garden apartments. Seventy-one guest rooms and suites encompass a tree-lined block. The hotel’s buildings are only two stories tall and also house a lobby, lounge, restaurant and event space. Tucked into a corner of the grounds sits a circular outdoor pool.
