TAP Portugal introduced a new branded fare structure aimed at offering customers more freedom when purchasing tickets or intercontinental flights.

Similar to the branded fares launched last September for Europe and North Africa, TAP customers can select throughout the entire TAP network the products that best meet their travel needs. Travelers will only pay the price corresponding to the products valued most.

TAP offers four fare brand options available for those traveling in economy and two for those in business. The options correspond to fare brands varying in price and services, but continue to provide comfort.

Those traveling with only carry-on baggage can purchase the new Discover fare brand which offers the most competitive pricing. Customers traveling with one checked bag will be able to select the Basic fare, while those traveling with two checked bags that want to pre-assign seats can select a Classic fare. Should a customer need to travel with additional baggage, comfort and flexibility, the Plus fare offers up to three bags, pre-assigned seating toward the front of the aircraft, priority check-in and flexibility in reservations. Regardless of the fare purchased, travelers continue to have the option to purchase additional products and services.

Customers choosing to purchase a Basic fare to travel as of Sep. 1, Lisbon (LIS)–New York (JFK), may benefit from a 19 percent discount when compared to the total cost to travel in either May or October if the ticket was purchased prior to the implementation of the new fare package.

In business class, the Executive brand offers more attractive pricing while providing all of the comforts and amenities of business, like lounge access and priority boarding. With the Top Executive brand, in addition to comfort and amenities, travelers are allowed complete flexibility in flight changes and no cancelation fees. Additionally, customers can check three pieces of baggage up to 70 pounds each, earn bonus miles and take advantage of the free valet parking at Lisbon and Porto (OPO) airports.

The fare change went into effect April 4.
