Daily

With golf season in full swing, StressFreeCarRental.com revealed the eight most dangerous golf courses in some of the strangest places. For golfers wanting to spice things up, these courses serve as the perfect challenge.

Kabul Golf Club, Afghanistan

This dirt and rock nine-hole course has survived the war and the murder of one of its founders. Golfers brave enough to play and survive this grim-looking, grassless course will be rewarded with a unique story to tell.

Camp Bonifas, North & South Korea

Located in the DMZ between North and South Korea, this one-hole, par-three course sits next to one of the most fortified borders in the world, flanked by military bunkers and littered with unexploded mines in the rough.

Merapi Golf Course, Indonesia

Situated at the foot of an active volcano, eruptions happen every two to three years, so keep your fingers crossed your tee time occurs between eruptions.

Uummannaq, Greenland

Players often tee up in minus-50-degree temperatures at this ice course north of the Arctic Circle. Remember to pack warm attire to avoid frostbite.

Furnace Creek, United States

Going from one of the coldest golf courses in the world to one of the hottest, Furnace Creek lives up to its name. Located 214 feet below sea level in the aptly named Death Valley, hardcore golfers can expect up to 130-degree temperatures in the summer.

Hans Merenskey Golf Club, South Africa

Instead of worrying about hitting birdies, golfers should keep an eye out for animals like leopards lurking in the trees or monster crocodiles waiting in the greenside lakes.

Prison View, United States

Prison View is situated on the grounds of what is commonly considered the bloodiest prison in America. All golfers must submit a background check as well as have their car searched when entering and leaving this Louisiana club. Also, make sure to keep an eye out for escaped convicts.

Nullarbor Links, Australia

The sheer length and punishing conditions set Nullarbor Links apart when it comes to an energy-sapping round of golf. Set in the barren expanse of South Australia, there are no trees to provide shelter from the baking sun.

Relax, Rejuvenate and Heal at StolenTime

At the namesake luxury, 5-star all-inclusive resort in Saint Lucia, the concept of “stolen time” used to be reserved for couples escaping to canoodle, reconnect and perhaps rekindle in sumptuous accommodations during a romantic getaway on the lush Caribbean island. But when StolenTime by Rendezvous rebranded in late 2022 to welcome all adult guests and focus more on wellness, the philosophy expanded to encompass self-reflection, personal growth and enrichment. After all, time is our most precious commodity, one that’s finite and too quickly slips through our grasp; we need to find those moments that matter and make them count.

Hotel Nice Beau Rivage Review

In the city Henri Matisse once called home — and where Musée Matisse holds his largest collection — Hotel Beau Rivage has a special connection with the artist, who first visited the hotel in 1916 and painted famous sea views from his room 89 in 1917. Today, framed Matisse prints — many brightly colored cut-out collages from the artist’s JAZZ collection — decorate its walls. Hotel guests also benefit from a partnership with the museum.
