1-900-ICE-CREAM
Sunday nights scream for ice cream, right? After seeing 1-900-ICE-CREAM’s drool-worthy post on Instagram introducing their new flavors, I couldn't stop thinking about the peanut butter and espresso soft serve twist offered on the menu for a short amount of time. It sounded like the perfect combo, and I knew I had to try it as soon as possible.

Sniki Tiki & Clowns
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages … welcome to the circus!” As an adult, it can sometimes seem too few mysteries remain in life. We know all the “secrets” and “tricks” and what’s real and what’s fake, but I dare you to visit the circus and not feel at least a little bit of that childlike wonder return. Nathan’s mom purchased the family ringside seats to see Circus Sarasota in Nathan Benderson Park. We arrived a little early and parking was well-directed, so we had time to grab a pre-show drink from the bar. Inside the tent we grabbed our seats and the show began — and what a show! First, we were introduced to the U.S. Olympic Rowing Team hopefuls (the trials to select the team take place this weekend in Nathan Benderson Park), then the owners of The Circus Arts Conservatory. The CAC offers circus training to youth and adults as well as performances and shows. They also act to preserve circus arts. That afternoon we were treated to dazzling feats of human strength and balance, surprisingly hilarious improv from randomly selected audience members, and daring stunts that left both children and adults cheering when they were pulled off. At about 2.5 hours with an intermission, the show was the perfect length for all ages to sit through, and we were glad to have the experience.
Museum of Ice Cream
Ordinarily, I wouldn't have ice cream for breakfast, but I made an exception last Sunday. While at Museum of Ice Cream, I had to indulge in several servings.

In Full Bloom: PHS Philadelphia Flower Show
Earlier this summer I attended my first Philadelphia Flower Show and had the pleasure of learning more about its history and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. Although this is my third year living in Pennsylvania, I must admit this was the first year I had heard and read about the show. A quick “things to do in Philly this weekend” Google search led me to this article from Visit Philadelphia about the current year’s show. It was the perfect activity I needed for visual sensory stimulation and to unwind.
