The Passing of Time and the Tide
In case you’re new here, I’m from Kansas. Terms like “high tide” and “low tide” mean little to this earth-hugging flatlander from Middle America (a.k.a., me). But since moving to Florida a little more than one year ago, I have developed a slight addiction to sea-shelling. As a fairly new “sheller,” I’m pretty flabbergasted at the amount of shells I see when taking an early-morning beach walk near my home in Siesta Key but even more so when I took a short walk near Longboat Key last weekend.

The Argosaronic Islands Are Calling
The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides. In fact, trips from Athens ports to the islands take only between 10 minutes and two hours, depending on the island you choose, making them perfect for day or weekend trips. From Piraeus port, you can access Hydra, Spetses, Aegina and Poros directly. Come explore these stunning islands with us and find the inspiration to plan your next trip to these islands. Hydra Hydra town curves around a slope overlooking the Argosaronic Gulf like an amphitheater and is considered one of the most romantic destinations in Greece. Most unique to the island is its lack of vehicles. People on the island get around on mules and donkeys as well as water taxis, making for a peaceful and laid-back day. Hydra lies a two-hour ferry ride from Piraeus port in Athens.
Holiday Fun
Thanksgiving kicked off the holiday season, and I couldn’t be more excited. For Thanksgiving my family decided to have a laid-back holiday where we all wore pajamas. My mom's side of the family came over to my house for dinner and dessert.
One of the Pek Family’s Traditions
Traditions are one of the most important parts of the holiday season. Many people share similar family traditions, yet there are always a few tiny changes setting them apart from others. This could be as simple as one extra teaspoon of sugar in Grandma's pudding, playing a homemade game consisting of money jackpots to stir up mischief, or wearing particular clothes, like fuzzy socks, to dinner.
Thanksgiving Prep
I was quite tempted to blog about my wonderful last week in Orlando at the GBTA convention, but I figure content from the conference can publish for weeks to come. With that said, I am excited to be the first to welcome Thanksgiving on to the staff blog.
