Daily

July 4, fireworks and outdoor fun — everyone’s favorite long summer holiday is coming up, and you can celebrate it a mile high (literally!) in Denver, Colorado. Here’s a selection of what’s planned:

July 3

On July 3, from 5 to 10 p.m., is the wildly popular Indy Eve in Civic Center Park, with crowds gathering to enjoy live music, a night market, food trucks and entertainment.

July 3–6

The Colorado Convention Center will host Fan Expo Denver. How to find the building? Look for the city’s famous Big Blue Bear peering inward through the glass wall. The installation’s actual name is I See What You Mean, and the creation of late artist Lawrence Argent. This holiday weekend, the bear will catch a glimpse of celebrities, anime, gaming, comics and plenty of cosplay. This year’s Fan Expo Denver celeb guests include William Shatner, Jason Isaacs, Patricia Velasquez, John Cena, Brendan Fraser, Alan Tudyk and Jennifer Beals.

July 4–6

The neighborhood of Cherry Creek will be the setting for the annual Cherry Creek Arts Festivals, one of the city’s most prestigious juried summer events. Expect works by local and global artists, live music and plenty of food.

All Weekend Long

The Fourth of July weekend will also be great for sports fans. From July 1 to 3, the Colorado Rockies face off against the Houston Astros at Coors Field; on July 4, it’s the Colorado Rapids against Sporting Kansas City at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City; and from July 4 to 6, it’s the Colorado Rockies vs. the Chicago White Sox at Coors Field.

SkyBeach Resort Review

If you drive by SkyBeach Resort on the southern tip of St. Petersburg, Florida, you might glance over and write it off as a typical “Old Florida” two-story hotel. But park and venture inside and you’ll find a resort with a host of amenities, chief among them a private beach overlooking Tampa Bay and Sunshine Skyway Bridge.

Sail Away

Please enjoy the Wave Issue, our cruising special for the first half of 2026. Cruising is booming, and travelers cannot get enough of it. I just returned from a fantastic trip on Regent Seven Seas Mariner with a group of Globility Board members and other Global Traveler subscribers. We departed from İstanbul and made our way through the Dardanelles Strait, connecting the Sea of Marmara to the Aegean. From there we entered the Mediterranean. The ship made interesting stops in Greece, Montenegro and Croatia before docking in Trieste. Please read my GT Tested review of Seven Seas Mariner in this issue.
