Singapore Airlines is giving its in-flight wine menu a major boost by increasing the number of Burgundy variants served on board.

The airline is improving its wine sourcing program by sending wine consultants on personal visits to vineyards, which allows the airline to offer a larger selection of high-quality, small-batch “artisanal” wines.

The carrier says passengers in premium cabins will have access to “the widest selection of Burgundy wines in the skies.” The carrier will soon offer 47 different labels in rotation over the next 18 months.

“Customers can look forward to a new and exciting label delivered on board every two months,” said Betty Wong, divisional vice president of inflight services, Singapore Airlines. “During our wine consultants’ visits to the vineyards, we also actively sought out smaller maisons and domaines to bring them into the Singapore Airlines family, thus allowing us to expand the depth and range of our offerings, and satisfy the rising demand for more exclusive Burgundy labels.”

The full wine list hasn’t been released but the airline’s wine consultants said to expect Grand Cru and Premier Cru labels from Faiveley, Benjamin Leroux, Domaine D’Ardhuy and Domaine de Montille.
