It’s been a Bard-centric year in Oxford, England, and the city’s celebrations in honor of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare continue through the autumn months. Venues include cinemas, clubs, libraries, theaters, concert halls and outdoor settings. From madcap to staid, events run the gamut from Lady Macbeth played by three male actors in Unsex Me Here at The North Wall Arts Centre Oct. 26, to Sonnet Remix at the Oxford Playhouse Nov. 4, featuring popular performance artists Live Canon staging new poems gathered from authors around the world who created works in direct response to one of 154 Shakespearean sonnets.

On Nov. 6, it’s Carousing With Shakespeare at the North Wall Arts Centre; then, on Nov. 23, the editors and scholars of The New Oxford Shakespeare will join forces with world-renowned Shakespearean Sir Stanley Wells to discuss Shakespeare’s enduring legacy in Undead Shakespeare: The Writer Who Can’t be Killed at the Oxford Martin School. While you’re in the spired and storied city, take an anniversary walking tour with Blackwell’s (through Oct. 28). Until Oct. 31, follow Bill’s Blooms flowery trail through the Oxford University Botanic Gardens and enjoy Stars, Globes and Magic at the Oxford University Museum of History of Science.
