Scandinavian Airlines introduces new in-flight connectivity with the addition of free, high-speed WiFi in partnership with Starlink, a company engineered by SpaceX. Starlink is the world’s first and largest satellite constellation using a low Earth orbit, and the brand will provide SAS passengers in all flight classes with high-speed, low-latency internet for free. The airline will begin to roll out this service in phases, with the entire fleet implementing serice by the end of 2025.

“By introducing this new technology, we’re connecting our passengers to the world like never before,” said Paul Verhagen, CCO, SAS. “We’re putting an end to frustrating interruptions and ushering in a new era of connectivity. Whether flying over the Atlantic or the North Sea, our passengers can now count on a connection that is as stable and seamless as it is fast. This is about giving our customers the best and ensuring SAS remains synonymous with excellence.”
Passengers flying on SAS will be able to enjoy WiFi connectivity as soon as they board, with service lasting until they disembark. This is a significant improvement from the current system that kicks in after take-off and shuts off during descent.
The new service will support multiple devices at once to allow passengers to stay productive and entertained across smartphones, tablets and laptops without having to compromise.
