Here’s a sampling of some recently inaugurated services and new routes announced.

Aer Lingus launched year-round service between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Dublin, Ireland (DUB), May 18.

United Airlines kicked off seasonal service between Washington’s Dulles International Airport and Scotland’s Edinburgh Airport May 23. Flights will continue through Oct. 15. United also announced expanding service between Newark Liberty International Airport and 17 cities; adding seasonal non-stop service between EWR and Palm Springs, Calif. (PSP); and shifting three regional flights from Newark to Dulles (IAD). Details on those changes here.

Frontier Airlines announced that in mid-August 2018, it will begin new service between San Antonio International Airport and nine cities: Albuquerque (ABQ), Charlotte (CLT), Cleveland (CLE), Columbus (CMH), Jacksonville (JAX), Memphis (MEM), Oklahoma City (OKC), Omaha (OMA) and Tulsa (TUL). Details here. The carrier also announced service to four new cities in August: Norfolk, Va. (ORF), Wichita, Kan. (ICT), Santa Barbara (SBA) and Sacramento (SMF). Details here and here.

And while Southwest Airlines has not shared start dates for planned service between the mainland and Hawai’i, the airline announced it will initially offer flights from Oakland (OAK), San Diego (SAN), San Jose (SJC) and Sacramento to Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport as well as airports on Maui, Kauai and the Island of Hawai’i. More details here.

PONANT’s New Catamaran to Set Sail This Summer

PONANT recently announced the latest addition to its fleet: Spirit of Ponant, measuring 24 meters and boasting six staterooms. The catamaran was built in France and sets sail in July 2024 before heading to the Seychelles for the winter. Travelers can privately charter Spirit of Ponant for week-long voyages and on a per-cabin basis for select itineraries, with rates starting at $8,250 per person (based on double occupancy for a single cabin booking in Corsica).
