ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: Our recent trip to Los Angeles for the 2024 GT Tested Reader Survey awards combined a much-needed getaway with some business, and I chose The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood as my home base. Arriving at the hotel felt like stepping into a modern oasis amid the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. I took a car to the hotel from the airport; and as I pulled up to the valet, the vibrant energy of the city was immediately palpable. The valet staff greeted me with a smile; and before I knew it, I was inside and checking in.

The lobby of The Godfrey sets the tone with its sleek, stylish design. The space has a contemporary feel with bold artwork, plush seating and a welcoming ambience. It felt upscale but still comfortable, offering a relaxed yet fashionable vibe that perfectly matched the spirit of Hollywood.

GUEST QUARTERS: On my way to the guestroom floor, soft, moody lighting illuminated the hallways, setting the stage for a stylish retreat. My room was both chic and functional, with a color scheme of dark blues and grays complemented by gold and silver accents. The cozy and efficiently designed layout offered just enough space to relax, work and unwind comfortably. The bed was an absolute highlight: huge, comfortable and luxurious. I felt like I was floating on clouds after a long day of sightseeing. The room also included a chic desk, perfect for catching up on work or planning our next adventure. A large, flat-screen TV mounted on the wall made it easy to enjoy some downtime with a movie.

The bathroom was just as impressive. It featured sleek, black tile with a walk-in shower that offered plenty of space. It also provided ample counter space for my things, and the modern fixtures gave the whole room a polished feel. I was especially impressed with the high-end bath products, which made getting ready for a night out feel even more luxurious.

SERVICES/AMENITIES: The Godfrey’s location in Hollywood proves ideal for those looking to explore everything this iconic neighborhood offers. I found myself wishing for more time so I could walk to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, TCL Chinese Theatre and other famous landmarks. One of the standout features of The Godfrey is its rooftop bar and pool area. The rooftop offers stunning views of the Hollywood Hills and makes the perfect spot for both sunset cocktails and relaxing by the pool. The energy up there was always lively, with great music and even better drinks. It quickly became our go-to spot after a day of meetings and sightseeing.

The on-site restaurant, ALK, is a gem. I enjoyed lunch there after I checked in, and I was blown away by the flavors and creativity of the menu. It’s a modern take on Mediterranean cuisine with dishes that are both fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent, and the ambience added to the experience, making it a memorable evening. The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood provided the perfect blend of relaxation, luxury and location. Whether you’re in town for business, pleasure or a bit of both, it’s a stylish choice that doesn’t disappoint.

TOP TAKEAWAYS:

  • The hotel’s central location in Hollywood is perfect for anyone looking to explore the iconic neighborhood, within walking distance of the Walk of Fame, Hollywood sign and many more top attractions.
  • Sleek, modern rooms are both stylish and comfortable with incredibly luxurious beds. The thoughtful design made our stay relaxing and convenient.
  • With panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills, a refreshing pool and a lively atmosphere, the rooftop makes the perfect place to unwind.

Why Japan Is Best Explored by Sea with Princess

Japan is a destination that rewards repeat visits because no two regions — or seasons —  feel quite the same. One moment, you’re wandering through centuries-old geisha districts in Kanazawa. The next, you’re watching neon reflections dance across Tokyo streets long after midnight.
