Air travelers passing through Baltimore-Washington International Airport will soon be able to relieve stress and stay fit right up until they board their next flight.

ROAM Fitness will open a post-security workout facility at BWI to be located in the new connector between Concourses D and E. The 1,175-square-foot fitness space will be able to accommodate nearly 24 people at once. The gym will include cardio equipment, free weights, yoga mats, medicine balls, a TRX system and other features.

“To ensure travelers can dedicate the appropriate time and energy for their workout and enjoy a refreshing escape from the stresses of air travel, we made sure our facility was located after security, since going through security is a time variable that can never be predicted,” said Cynthia Sandall, co-founder, ROAM.

The gym will be open daily from 5 a.m.–10 p.m. Travelers will have the opportunity to rent or buy fitness gear for their workout — rentals are included when members purchase a gym pass.

Showers and towels are available to reserve for up to 15 minutes, as the fitness center offers four private bathrooms. Vacuum-sealed bags will be available to travelers for their workout clothes.

The gym will allow guests to choose from various passes, including daily passes for $40, monthly passes for $175 and yearly passes for $600.

While the gym’s first opening is at BWI, it plans to open a public post-security facility at North Carolina’s Charlotte Douglas International Airport later in 2017.
