Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park, an iconic, 130-room hotel in downtown El Paso, Texas, completed its property-wide transformation. Excluding its original façade, almost all other areas of the Pueblo Deco property underwent a $78 million renovation, including guestrooms, public spaces and event space.
The property now boasts two upscale food and beverage concepts: Ámbar Restaurante, serving wood-fired Mexican cuisine, and La Perla, a rooftop bar and restaurant. The Pueblo Deco influence can be seen throughout the hotel’s interior.
“The hotel has undergone an incredible transformation that seamlessly melds our rich history with modern luxurious touches to create an entirely new experience. There is truly something for everyone here, and we are so proud to play an integral role in the revitalization of downtown El Paso,” said Wolfgang Jonas, general manager, The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park.
The hotel originally opened its doors in November 1930 as the El Paso Hilton, and served as the corporate headquarters well into the 1940s.

May 31, 2023Homer and Janet by Homer Review
The Marais District, covering swaths of Paris’ 3rd and 4th arrondissments, has a distinctively gritty glamour that reveals it to be one of the city’s great incubators for new French food, fashion and lifestyle trends. It is here Moïse Sfez took on the challenge of creating street food establishments Homer in 2017 and Janet by Homer in 2022, doing it in such a way they both transcend the novelty of being regional American comfort food offered at stylized lunch counters matching up with New England lobster shacks and New York delis. Overwhelming local response and Sfez winning the 2018 Lobster Roll World’s Championship title in Portland, Maine, solidified him as a Paris restaurateur and one of France’s hottest culinary stars.
