In celebration of the release of the movie Paddington 2, Inkaterra, Peru’s leader in sustainable tourism, is introducing a special offer focused on the Andean Spectacled Bear. The breed of bear is so named for the rings of light fur around their eyes, sometimes extending down the chest.
The English author Michael Bond produced more than 20 books about Paddington Bear, endearing him to children worldwide. Bond was inspired to create the series after spotting a stuffed toy bear on an empty shelf in London.
Inkaterra’s Andean Spectacled Bear Project is home to five bears and is dedicated to secure the endangered species’ future in South America. The conservation effort offers visitors exclusive access to the natural habitat and the opportunity to shadow the project’s keepers and understand their day-to-day activities.
The offer includes three nights’ accommodations in a casita; a visit to the Andean Spectacled Bear Project; a three-hour privately guided excursion to UNESCO World Heritage Site Machu Picchu with a bilingual, certified guide; guided excursions within the hotel grounds; and a surprise take-home gift.
