Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, placed an order with Airbus for three A330-300 aircraft, expanding its A330 fleet to 10 aircraft. The airline currently operates seven A330s from its base in Muscat (MCT), including four smaller A330-200s with seating for 216 passengers and three larger A330-300s with 230 seats. The new planes will be operated on long-routes and will feature six seats in first class, 20 in business and 204 in economy. “The efficiency, reliability and passenger appeal of our in-service A330s already make the pillar of Oman Air’s long-haul operations,” said Wayne Pearce, CEO of Oman Air. “This additional order will allow us to continue our strategy of growth with an aircraft we know to be both reliable and profitable, and in addition offering the highest levels of passenger comfort.” The carrier currently flies long-haul routes to cities in Europe and Asia, including London (LHR), Paris (CDG), Zurich (ZRH), Frankfurt (FRA), Munich (MUC), Milan (MXP), Bangkok (BKK), Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Jakarta (CGK) and Manila (MNL).
